Galliano Fired From Christian Dior

By now, I am sure you are all well aware of the recent events, involving Christian Dior's Chief Designer, John Galliano. Galliano drunkenly made anti-semetic remarks to a couple in a Paris bar. The morning I read this in the New York Times, I was disgusted. I was disgusted by the fact that something so far from beautiful still existed in our world. Being proudly Jewish, the things that came out of Galliano's mouth, things like, "I love Hitler", and "You're mothers and forefathers would all be dead... gassed", made me realize that no matter what you do as a career; no matter how beautiful your craft is, you can still be an ugly person. It is vile and sad to think that Galliano carries those kinds of thoughts with him. My heart does go out to him, and I hope he seeks the help necessary for his well-being.
Also, I am very proud of the actions Dior took; they immediately suspended Galliano, investigated the matter further and eventually fired him. I am proud that, like most of celebrities today, he didn't just get a tap on the wrist, and made to give a fake apology for his actions. It shows that no matter how famous or well-known you are in your industry, you still must suffer the consequences of your own actions.

Bleak Streak in the USA

Okay, sorry for my lack of posting. I know what you're thinking, "He's not actually sorry." No, but I am! I've been helping my grandfather paint the inside of his house. So I have been unable to do anything, except well ruin some good sweatpants and ruin the inside of my grandfathers house. Note to everyone out there, never ask me to paint your house.

And though I wish I could write more reviews for PFW I just don't have the time at this moment, so please check out the godly works of Commes des Garcons, Givenchy, John Galliano, and Victor & Rolf.

So the whole point to this post was to show you guys my latest necklace and to introduce to you a true artist. A few weeks ago I was on Etsy.com, a website I'm religiously on because I have this uncontrollable shopping habit, and I came across the coolest necklace I have ever seen. It was a silver pendent featuring a poet/author I hold dear to my heart; Edgar Allen Poe. I knew I had to have it. I ordered the necklace and in about a week I got the necklace in the mail and I was hooked.



The store that I ended up buying the necklace from was from is Arete, (pronounced ahr-eh-tay). Who hand makes all of her vintage inspired goods. She sells everything from necklaces, to bookmarks each with it's own flair.

The Beginning of the New Year - Fashion Week

That's right everyone it has once again approached - the January in fashion, the new year - It's September, which means fashion week. Starting tomorrow we have nine days of none stop shows. Clothes! oh the clothes! There is only one slight problem. This year I am in college and have no time for anything other than my college work so hopefully I'll have plenty of time to review shows. For New York's fashion week I'm most excited for Vera Wang and Donna Karan. As for London I'm only looking forward to Burberry. Now Paris and Milan are different stories, I will most likely review every show during their fashion weeks. Chanel, Alexander McQueen, Valentino, Prada, Lanvin, the list goes on and on... I think I'm in love, with clothes that is.

I thought I would take the time to go back in time and look at my favorite looks from the 2009-2010 Sping/Summer Fashion season.

Don't ask me why I chose nine looks, nine just sounded good at the time, but god those are such stunning ensombles. But what kind of fashion blog would this be if I didn't post some beautiful, gorgeous, stunning, magnificant shoes? Who could ever forget the show stopper at the Alexander McQueen show? The Armadillo Stiletto. They send shivers down my spine.




Those shoes are beyond amazing, there are no words for shoes like those. I would give my first born child just to try a pair on. They are breath taking.

Also I thought since we are approaching the Fall Season I would dig up an one of my all time favorite fall collections. Ever. This is John Galliano's 2009 Fall/Winter show. It's only the first part, but it's still a wonderful show.
