Give Me Big Black Dresses and a New Look

Commes des Garcons, French for "like boys", is quite honestly my all time favorite Japanese fashion label. Hell, it's my favorite label in general. I appreciate all labels, and all things wearable. But when it comes to garments, Des Garcons holds a special place in my heart. I snagged some looks from their ss2011 collection via New York Magazine.

So stunning, so playing, so artistic, so Commes des Garcon. Thank you Rei.
You may have noticed Fashion's Religion underwent a change. It took tons of makeup, hair curlers, and lip gloss to get her like this. I'm still playing around with the look and wont stop until she is absolutely perfect. What do you guys think of the new look?

Cathy Horyn Deemed a Bitch and Gareth Pughs' Spring Collection

Today I read a very interesting article in The Daily Beast on the New York Times' Fashion Critic, Cathy Horyn. Cathy just happens to be my favorite established fashion writer, so I found the article a very entertaining. The article named her fashion's most feared critic which I think is just ridiculous. She's honest, I don't think that makes anyone a bitch. She can be a bit harsh sometimes, but it's refreshing to read some honest reviews. Cathy says what we'd all like to say about some collections, and it's refreshing to not read sugar coded reviews. Cathy is definitely not afraid to throw a punch. If you like to read about all things fashion, and read about it in an insightful interesting point of view, then read Cathy's blog, On the Runway. I live by her words.

Gareth Pugh, known for his crazy geometric designs has yet again released a video collaboration of his ss2011 collection. Loved the video, take a look.

Spring/Summer 2011 RTW - Balenciaga

Let me start this post off by saying, HELLILUAH it's raining in Vegas! That's right, it's actually cloudy and it's raining. It hasn't rained here for over 4 months. So anyway, back to purpose of this post.

Last night for a couple of hours I viewed all of the latest shows from Paris, and what can I say other than I'm impressed. I love most of the shows and though I wish I could write reviews for all of my favorites, well lets just say God hasn't invented the 30 hour day yet so I'm stuck writing a review for only a few shows at a time. Though, I think you should take my advice and view the collections of Balmain, Nina Ricci, Zac Posen, and Gareth Pugh.

This season Balenciaga went all messy and rock n' roll. Mostly dark colors with a few pastels to make it feminine-chic. We saw a lot of leather a lot of black and a lot of boots. All of the women in the show looked like some bad ass bitches you do not want to mess with. That's my favorite kind of women. Here are my favorite looks from the runway.

Spring/Summer 2011 RTW - Rochas

I'm going to start off by saying, Because Paris does it better. I have been to eager for Pairs since well Fall/Winter Fashion Week! I have no doubt in my mind that one day I'll be planning my whole year around Paris Fashion Week. As for now I'm trying to plan my days around Paris, but it's impossible with my college work... Oh college how you keep me from doing EVERYTHING.

So I've viewed a lot of collections this season and to be honest I've been a bit bored. I haven't really seen anything that's exciting or so fashion forward for me. But then I finally sat down and viewed tons of collections from Paris and of course I was impressed with just about everything I viewed. Top of my list, Rochas.

Rochas featured a lot of retro silk florals. Usually I become very bored with viewing florals for Spring, but there was something different about this collection, maybe it's just my Paris fever but the florals looked more like crazy prints. Oh and as you know I can't go long without writing a post about sunglasses. The sunglasses were beyond gold. They literally sent shivers down my spine. Here are my favorite looks from the runway.


There is nothing negative that I can say about this collection. Other than I wish there were more beautiful garments to look at.

Okay, so who else has Paris fever? What is everyone excited for? I'm so looking forward to viewing Chanel. I'm jumping off of my seat just thinking about it. I'm going to be sad when Fashion Week is over.

Fashion's Future is Definitely Looking Bright

If it's one thing that brings me more pleasure than a good pair of heels and a slab of chocolate, it's finding a new designer to fall in love with. And that is exactly what happened after reading Garbage Dress. His name? Asher Levine. His game? Taking your breath away with his amazing designs. His garments remind me a lot of Gareth Pugh, not in the sense that he is stealing his designs but in the fact that his voice is powerful, and he likes to play with the fabric to create an unforgettable piece. Take a look at his s/s 2011 collection.






I know, how Carrie Bradshaw of me, but what kind of blog would this be without shoes. Oh yes, the one thing that makes even me weak at the knees. They're not heels, but they are still one-of-a-kind amazing.
